Extremely!!! I recently came across a video that depicted a story of a Nigerian boy who was disowned by his family and left to fend for himself in the streets.  It was only after a long 8 months that this boy found refuge. What was his misdoing? He was believed to be a child witch! Yep, my first reaction was “I can’t believe a thought could be THAT powerful to allow you to disown an innocent child and worse that it was your own child!!” It baffled me.  At the same time also made me think deeper of my own thoughts being powerful.  I’m sure it was fear knocking at those parents and most likely an entire community that backed up the “child witch” theory and giving fear more power. It’s a foreign concept to us living here in the USA, but it once too was a prevalent and accepted concept here😵 

 

Remember the Salem Witch trials in America? It actually happened.  Check out Castlevania on Netflix!! It made me think about the email chain fwd’s…remember?? It sounds silly now, but it was all new back then. I’m guilty I did sent off those fwds sometimes in fear of not covering my basis. Hah, I laugh now, but it was very real fear as small as it seems. Eventually, I dared not to send off those fwds and watched absolutely nothing happen. Freedom!!  I mean if a simple email chain fwd got to me then who am to say that living in Africa and amongst a certain community that thrives in this type of belief system is not relatable to our various fears? How has fear(s) stopped me from moving forward or kept me in a box within my views and consequentially resulting in different decisions/behaviors?  I bet it had a hand in it. What’s some of the fears that held you back?  Is your belief system based upon any fears? What fears have you set yourself free from?  How’s looking back feel now?
